Do you have a pile of old computer equipment in your house? Most of us know we can’t throw old electronics in the trash — their materials become toxic when they break down. But those big old monitors, printers and computer parts — even old televisions — take up a ton of space.
If you live in Hamilton County, there is a city program available that will properly dispose of your old equipment for free. This service is available Monday-Friday through the month of June, as well as thisĀ Saturday, June 19. See hours and location below.
They will accept: CPUs, hard drives, personal copiers, docking stations, monitors, scanners, printers, cellular telephones, televisions, hard drives, tape and disk drives, VCR and DVD players, circuit boards, cables, mainframes, servers, terminals, fax machines, PDAs, back up batteries, chips, keyboards, mice, modems, computer speakers, CD Rom drives, and laptops.
To drop off your items, bring ID or proof of residence to:
2trg
11085 Kenwood Road
Blue Ash, Ohio 45242
Monday-Friday: 9-4
Saturday, June 19: 9-2
Don’t miss this opportunity to properly dispose of your old electronics. Go through your closets and basements now!
Remember, please don’t donate very old or broken computer equipment. If your computer is not usable in your home, it won’t be usable for a school or non-profit, either. Crayons to Computers requests newer computers and 17″ monitors only, but prefers not to receive computers at all due to the high cost of disposing poor computers. You can also take good equipment to Cincinnati Computer Cooperative, but will incur a fee to recycle/dispose most equipment there. This is good option for you if you live outside Hamilton County, or miss the drop off times — their prices are reasonable and they are a non-profit.
