Exclusively for Hamilton County residents, pick up a backyard compost bin for only $35 — they retail for $100. These compost bins are available on Saturday, May 8, at the two locations. You can also pick up compost turners for $15 and kitchen pails for $7. Quantities are limited, so get there early. Remember, Cincinnati is no longer picking up yard waste, and it’s illegal to trash it. A compost bin is an alternative way to dispose of your yard waste, and works for food waste as well. Bins can keep animals out of your compost, and are more compact and attractive than compost piles. There... [more...]

Ever since my college days at the University of Kentucky, May 5th has been more than just another day in May. Back then, Cinco de Mayo was an afternoon and evening of Mexican beer and fun and a huge party. Today, a lot of years later, Cinco de Mayo is still one of my favorite holidays. Now, we enjoy a nice party on our front porch (no couches, like in college) and lots of Mexican drinks and foods and sometime friends from college and their kids!!! We’re old. So, in tribute to our neighbors to the South, and Cinco De Mayo, I will share with all of you my prized Guacamole recipe. Impress... [more...]

As in every aspect of life, I believe attitude is everything. The way you think and behave can determine what happens. This is true in Real Estate as in life — I believe properties will continue to be bought and sold. And they will. Time has proven again and again that a good agent can flourish in the most difficult of markets. In fact, my business has never known a “up market” and yet I prove each winter that sales happen during the snow and cold. Its all about attitude. If you don’t believe that, let me throw something else at you. No matter the economy, or the market we are in,... [more...]

Had a great chance to visit Redtree Gallery in Oakley this morning. We had heard about the free wi-fi, which was excuse enough to finally make the visit. What we found was more than satisfying! The entire store is spacious and open, adorned with artwork on every wall. After we spotted the large table to sprawl out for our meeting, we checked out the large chalkboard of drinks, and the daily menu. Went with a large Seven Hills Blend, but kept eying one of those Belgium Waffles and other assorted pastries. #gallery-1 { margin: auto; } #gallery-1 .gallery-item { float: left; margin-top:... [more...]
