  • Take an adult beginner classes at the Cincinnati Ballet (1 hour for $14). Then take the famous Roebling Suspension Bridge (two decades older than Brooklyn’s, remember) and grab brunch at the Greenup Cafe in Covington.
  • The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is on the must list — tickets here are just $9 until the end of summer.
  • Visit Newport for it’s “relics of the town’s vice-filled past.” Visit Sin City Antiques, which features items from Newport’s past. Eat at the York St. Cafe and enjoy bistro fare in this transformed apothecary.
  • Spend an evening at the theatre by visiting Tony Award recipient Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park or catching a great student production at CCM – mainstage tickets are less than $30, and studio shows are free.
  • It’s back to Newport to enjoy live music at Southgate House.
  • Once an epicenter of the German immigrant society, Over-the-Rhine is trying to bring back visitors through its $80 million revitalization. Stroll Main Street for artists galleries and the Iris Book Cafe or the trendy MiCA shop.
  • Choose a souvineer at HighStreet, with its inspiring decor. You’ll find a “cosmopolitan mix of textiles, clothing and jewelry” by both local and famous world-wide designers.

NYT recommends visitors stay at the Hilton or the Westin. But you can stay at home and still enjoy Cincinnati like a New Yorker.
