One of our biggest local events is taking place this weekend — The Flying Pig Marathon. Whether you’re participating in the full marathon, half marathon, relay, or just a spectator, it’s an amazing weekend for the city! This year the race is being sponsored “powered by P&G.” There will also be a special guest: Ali Vincent, the first female winner of NBC’s Biggest Loser, will be walking the half marathon with other participants. Other special racers include a group of recovering addicts from the City Gospel Mission — these individuals are building confidence and improving... [more...]

Beginning May 1, 2009, the Commonwealth of Kentucky is helping stimulate their real estate economy by offering $4500 for down payment and closing costs. This is radically different than the federal $8000 tax credit for first time buyers. Of course, the $4500 comes with some stipulations, requiring buyers to obtain a KHC first mortgage through a KHC-approved lender, be a first-time home buyer, meet KHC income and purchase price guidelines, and have a 620 minimum credit score. And this is not free money, but a loan: The First Home Advantage Program offers a 10-year loan that defers payment with... [more...]

A local company has really taken off — it’s called Cincinnati Sports Leagues (or CSL), and they run adult co-ed events that everyone is talking about. There are some things you should never cut corners on… no matter what the situation. And your home insurance is one of those things! I had a chat with my State Farm Insurance representative, Greg Meinberg. He’s fantastic and insures several of my clients. I like State Farm insurance very much. It’s not that you can’t get insurance from other providers, but State Farm has an amazing reputation and many loyal clients. It is different from many other companies — you may understand this, but not realize why. Read More →
