ABR: Accredited Buyer’s Representative; A Real Estate professional who has been given the tools and training necessary to specifically meet the needs of buyers and is a member of REBAC (Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council of the National Association of Realtors).
Who is an ABR? I am!
As an ABR, I have received special training in order to serve buyers better. Only about 4% of Realtors nationwide have earned this designation.
REBAC has played a role in seeing that buyers can receive the same level of representation in real estate transactions that was previously only awarded to sellers. Basically, with an ABR, you can rest assured that you are receiving the same amount of attention and care given to the person who may be selling the house you want to buy — you are not a second-rate client. Historically, this hadn’t been the case. REBAC has helped to reform the Realtors Code of Ethics and helped to change the way real estate brokerage is conducted across the country.
Following the courses, an agent must serve three years as an ABR candidate. During this time the agent must fulfill the experimental requirements to become ABR Designees. We also have the opportunities to take elective classes.
Bottom line: in a competitive market, accreditation”s and experience do matter! Not only does an agent who as achieved ABR designation have those special skills, but has shown an attention to improving his/her craft! This is all in the name of giving YOU better service. As an ABR agent, I can assure you that I can meet your needs as a buyer, and have special skills to deal with those needs.
